JOB SAFETY AND HEALTH DECISIONS AVAILABLE ON COMPACT COMPUTER DISK

Hundreds of legal decisions resolving disputes over whether employers violated workplace safety and health rules can now be read, printed and researched using a compact computer disk with read only memory (CD-ROM), the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission announced today.

OSHRC Administrative Law Judge and Commission Decisions on CD ROM will be sold to the public through its publisher, the Government Printing Office, GPO Stock No. 1070-L-01.  OSHRC is the independent Federal agency that issues the decisions, which arise from contests of workplace safety and health inspections. A one-year subscription costs $31 for domestic purchasers; individual copies are $13 for domestic purchasers and $16.25 for foreign purchasers and can be obtained by calling the Superintendent of Documents of the GPO at 202-512-1800.  The current publication is a three-disk set covering agency final decisions issued from January 1993 through October 1998; it will be updated quarterly.

The new CD ROM replaces the publication of agency decisions on microfiche. It contains complete texts of all substantive agency legal decisions and a copy of the Adobe, Inc. Acrobat 3.0 Reader with Search.  Copies of the disk will also be provided by GPO to municipal and university libraries that serve as depository libraries for U.S. government documents.

Installation and user instructions are included with the CD-ROM.
