JOB SAFETY COMMISSION PROVIDES WEB SITE ACCESS TO ITS DECISIONS

Chairman Stuart E. Weisberg today announced the availability of a new Web site for the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission (OSHRC), the independent Federal agency that decides disputes involving alleged violations of work place safety rules.  The Web site provides the public with OSHRC decisions in electronic format for both the current and previous year. The site also includes the agency's Rules of Procedure, user-friendly guides explaining its trial procedures in plain English, press releases and other information of interest to the public.

The Web site address is http://www.oshrc.gov

OSHRC decisions, of both its Commissioners and Administrative Law Judges, can be searched or downloaded as text files in plain-text format (ASCII) or as PDF (portable document format) files, which look much like the original decision in typography and format. The agency's Rules of Procedure, Guide to E-Z Trial Procedures and Guide to Review Commission Procedures are also searchable and may be downloaded.  The Web site also includes the last two years of OSHRC press releases, the agency strategic plan, the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 and links to many other job safety related Web sites.

In the future, the site will provide agency decisions for earlier years, judges' decisions under review by the Commissioners, information on OSHRC implementation of the Freedom of Information Act regulations, speeches by Commissioners and agency testimony to Congress. The Web site may also be expanded to accommodate state review commissions which wish to include their decisions.
