The Office of the Solicitor of Labor will host a Brown Bag Lunch

The Office of the Solicitor of Labor will host a Brown Bag Lunch focused on legal issues related to occupational safety and health on November 8, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., as part of the ABA LEL Annual CLE Conference’s Inside the Beltway Track. This lunch will offer a unique opportunity to meet and visit with leadership and staff from several agencies involved in occupational safety and health enforcement: the Solicitor’s Divisions of Occupational and Mine Safety and Health, OSHA, MSHA, and the Occupational and Mine Safety and Health Review Commissions (OSHRC and FMSHRC). After a brief presentation about relevant cases and initiatives from the various agencies, we will answer questions from participants.

WHERE: The Department of Labor is located at in the Frances Perkins Building at 200 Constitution Ave, NW, but the public entrance is on Third Street at the intersection of Third and C Streets, NW. We will meet in Rooms S-4215A & B. The Building is about a 15 minute ride from the Washington Hilton Hotel. It is also an easy Metro ride. From the Washington Hilton, go to the Dupont Circle Metro station and take the Red Line (heading toward Glenmont/Silver Spring) to the Judiciary Square station. Take the D Street / courthouses exit, and you will be facing D Street. Third Street is about 100 feet to the left. Turn right on Third Street, and the entrance to our building is across from the C Street light.

LUNCH: Pick up your own lunch on your way. This truly is a brown-bag lunch.

SECURITY: Attendees should arrive by 11:45 a.m. to ensure everyone has completed security and is seated by 12:00 p.m.

The following security procedures will be in place. After you enter the building, you will pass through a metal detector screening device. You will then proceed to the security guard on duty. Let the guard know that you are attending the “ABA Program.” Provide your full name and have your photo identification ready. An escort will take you to the meeting room.

TIMING: The lunch will begin at 12 pm and conclude at 2:00 p.m.
