Judge Judson H. Dean joined the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission (OSHRC) in Washington, D.C. on February 24, 2025. Judge Dean previously worked in the Department of Labor’s Office of the Solicitor as a Senior Trial Attorney for over 20 years. During that time, he litigated some of the most significant and complex cases before OSHRC administrative law judges and gained the highest degree of respect for the vital role they play in adjudicating citations issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Judge Dean received his B.A. from Dartmouth College, and his J.D. from Duke University School of Law where he graduated summa cum laude and was awarded membership in the Order of the Coif. Following law school, he worked as a judicial law clerk for two years at the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the United States District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Judge Dean is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar and is admitted to the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
