Nadine N. Mancini, General Counsel

Nadine N. Mancini was appointed General Counsel of the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission (“Review Commission”) in August 2008.  The Review Commission is an independent adjudicatory agency created by the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.  Its cases emanate from contested workplace inspections conducted by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the U.S. Department of Labor.

The General Counsel supervises a staff of attorneys responsible for providing the Review Commission with advice in case disposition matters, preparing drafts of Commission opinions, and furnishing overall legal advice to the Chairman, Commissioners and staff.

Ms. Mancini started her legal career with the Review Commission in 1992.  Originally assigned to the Boston Regional Office where she worked for the Review Commission’s Administrative Law Judges, Ms. Mancini moved to the Office of the General Counsel in 1999.  While assigned to the General Counsel’s office, Ms. Mancini has served as an attorney, a team leader, and, as senior counsel.

Ms. Mancini is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh.  She is an honors graduate of the University of Connecticut Law School, and is admitted to the State Bars of Pennsylvania and Massachusetts, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit.
